1. Falling Rock Cafe & Bookstore
Conveniently located in downtown Munising you’ll find what you’re looking for to jump start your day at the Falling Rock Café & Bookstore. Each batch of coffee is roasted by hand and fresh brewed using custom Great Lake Coffee Company beans. There is also gourmet tea and delicious homemade food to indulge in. Thousands of books, local art exhibits and gifts allow you to immerse yourself into a compelling story and the local culture while you satisfy your caffeine craving.
2. Dead River Coffee
Marquette is an active city nestled between Lake Superior and the undulating hills of the Upper Peninsula. It is a picturesque setting for an excellent coffee shop. Dead River Coffee offers a unique and comfortable atmosphere coupled with friendly service that makes you feel at home. The beans are ground and brewed fresh delivering a rich and delicious coffee experience with every cup. Whether you are seeking a great cup of coffee for the road or a relaxing spot to savour and play a round of cribbage, this coffee shop is one that should not be missed.
3. Copper Cup
What could be more convenient than a drive-through when you’re on the road? Copper Cup brews quality, fresh coffee and espresso from the Duluth Coffee Company and prepares incredibly delicious concoctions with it. Try a signature drink like “The Copper Cup”, a caramel and butterscotch Latte. Or perhaps the “Red Devil Spirit”, a combination of Raspberry, vanilla and Red Bull! Their vast menu has something for everyone including yummy on the go snacks, “Little Yoopers” drink menu for the kids, and the ability to come up with your own flavor combinations.
4. The Sand Bar
Ashland is tucked away in the heart of Lake Superior’s Chequamegon Bay. The Bay’s name is derived from the Ojibwe word chagaouamigoung, meaning “at the sand bar”, so what better name could there be for this restaurant? The Sand Bar is located at the unique and scenic Blue Wave Inn right on the shoreline. They offer delectable house roasted coffee, refreshing drinks, and fresh food with an unforgettable view.
5. North Coast Coffee
Located in downtown Washburn, North Coast Coffee is a charming and cozy coffee shop that offers freshly ground beans for every pot of coffee and each espresso they make. Go through their convenient drive-through for java on the go, or stay a while in a comfy chair with a fresh made sandwich or pastry. Whether you’re in the mood for a tried and true cup of coffee, flavored Latte, hot tea or cold brew, there is something on the menu to satiate your thirst. They even have year round ice cream! You can’t go wrong here.
6. Red Mug Coffeehouse
Red Mug Coffeehouse is an eclectic and cozy stone-walled coffee shop located in The Trade and Commerce Marketplace in Superior’s North end. There is a laid back atmosphere with a community feel that features local art on the walls and often has live music. The aroma of fresh coffee and baking greets you as you enter. Stop in for some delicious comfort food, great ambiance and of course a flavorful cup of coffee.
7. Duluth Coffee Company
Located in downtown Duluth, the Duluth Coffee Company is must stop while in this port town. The environment has a hip and comfortable vibe. Their beans are acquired from the best around the globe and ground fresh right in front you. The extensive menu and blends offers something for any coffee lover accompanied by delicious pastries. Grab a cup to go and take a stroll along the near by Lake Walk.
8. Coho Café
The Coho Café is one of three of Bluefin Bay Resort’s dining experiences. It is a casual yet chic bistro offering coffee and espresso drinks as well as an extensive breakfast, lunch, dinner and delicious baking menu including their award winning pizza. Utilize the seating inside, out on the patio or take your coffee and meal packed up for a picnic in nearby Temperance River State Park nestled in nature.
9. Cedar Coffee Company
Two Harbors, MN
Two Harbors is a bustling harbor community with miles of scenic trails. The Cedar Coffee Company is a one stop shop for the coffee, cycling and outdoor enthusiast. Under the same roof of this coffee shop you can also rent or repair a bike and pick up some custom cycling packs. There is a wide range of caffeinated delights on the menu and a mouth watering breakfast and lunch menu. It is the perfect place to fuel your cycling adventure.
10. White Pine Market
Two Harbors, MN
The White Pine Market not only features unique home goods, décor and clothing from local artisans but also an incredible lineup of fresh brewed beverages. The coffee beans are roasted on-site for an aromatic and flavorful cup every time. While savoring a fresh brewed cup you can also find a one of a kind memento from your journey. 11. Java Moose
Grand Marais, MN
Located in the scenic Northshore town of Grand Marias you’ll find Java Moose’s two great locations. Their primary café is easily found in town on highway 61 with majestic views of Lake Superior. Seasonally, you can also get your Java Moose coffee fix at the corner of the Lake Superior Trading Post with outdoor lakeside seating. The atmosphere, picturesque views and outstanding variety of coffee drinks will stick in your mind long after you’ve completed your Circle Tour.

When you’re fiending for a coffee in Northwestern Ontario’s largest city, you’ll find your fix at The Bean Fiend. 14. Red Pebbles Café

The quaint community of Red Rock is truly a Superior treasure at the top of Lake Superior. Here you will find the hidden gem that is the Red Pebbles Café situated inside the Community Recreation Center. It’s a great, welcoming place to begin your day with a coffee or tea and a delicious meal before heading out to explore the hiking trails or strolling along the marina’s picturesque boardwalk.
